I’ve been pounding the pavement this past week, promoting my book, A Tour of the Heart:  A Seductive Cycling Trip Through France. It’s been great getting out there chatting with people at promotions I’ve done in conjunction with the USA Pro Cycling Challenge—it’s always nice to connect with like minded people that enjoy to read. The beautiful cover of this travel memoir/love story draws people in right away and then I take it from there. I tell some people a lot about my book; others just a little—whatever it takes for them to determine if this is a read for them. I’ve done readings, signings and press interviews and have even distributed flyers and postcards the old fashioned way. To me, it has all been important and best of all, it has afforded me the opportunity to chat with people that love cycling, France, Colorado, food and wine, adventure, romance and other components of my story.

I’m grateful that the response this past week—and throughout the past eleven months since A Tour of the Heart—was published has been very favorable. People are enjoying my book and even better, they’re feeling inspired and entertained by the story. Whether readers are armchair traveling with me throughout France or planning their own travels in their mind, it seems my story has transported people to a place of adventure and fun. For this and so much more, I’m truly grateful.

Listen to what I have to say about A Tour of the Heart:  A Seductive Cycling Trip Through France in an interview I did on my own Travel Fun radio show with Ben Kerr on KOTO in Telluride about a year ago. I enjoyed talking about my book and it seems I haven’t stopped chatting about it since! You can also read the reviews at amazon that have awarded me a high rating; excerpts are provided there as well. Be sure to check out my Welcome to A Tour of the Heart page here on my blog as well where I’ve highlighted different excerpts and other press that the book has received.

Just a few events and appearances remain for this big promo tour and then it’s back to Telluride, Colorado Tuesday night. I’ll be on the TV show Colorado & Company on NBC Channel 9 tomorrow, Monday, August 26 at 10a.m. mountain time. Then I’m doing a signing/meet and greet at The Lark, a wonderful store in Cherry Creek, from noon until 2p.m.  Then Tuesday I’ll be at Cimarron Books & Coffee in Ridgway from 4 to 6p.m.. I’ll be back in Telluride for a meet and greet at Alpen Schatz, a wonderful shop filled with alpine treasures and other goods from Europe, Wednesday, from 5 to 8p.m. You can also shop online at Alpen Schatz for signed copies of A Tour of the Heart and much more. Type in Bonjour upon checkout to receive a 10% discount on all your  Alpen Schatz online purchases.

After all this touring, I’ll be back at my desk, back to my insular writer’s life. Thankfully I’ll have many wonderful exchanges with people to hold in my heart and carry me through until I can get back out and do it again.

Please note that if you make a  $40. donation to KOTO, I’ll send you a paperback copy of A Tour of the Heart; for a $20. donation, you can receive the eBook version of my book. Contact me through my blog, to find out more.
