Win a Fall Foliage Trip to Telluride, Colorado
Autumn in Telluride rates as one of my favorite times of the year. Since we’re located in southwestern Colorado, it’s typically sunny and warm during the day and cool and crisp at night. Known as the gold season, the aspens present a dazzling array of sunshine yellow, honey and maize while the brush, which flanks our mountainsides and carpets our valleys, turns into a rich showing of saffron, russet and ruby red.
The foliage typically peaks at the end of September, however, the scenery remains stunning here through mid October, especially if we’re blessed with a fresh dusting of snow on our breathtaking peaks. The big summer and festival crowds have gone home, so you can easily soak up the tranquility of our charming mountain destination and the outlying area whether you’re hiking, biking, fishing, jeeping, shopping, dining or just lolling on a nice deck.
Thanks to Mountain Lodge Telluride, the New Sheridan Chop House Restaurant, Paragon Outdoors/Bootdoctors and Salon 7, you can win a fabulous stay in Telluride, one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. (And that’s coming from a gal who lived eleven years in Paris.) Here’s what the trip includes:
A three-night stay in a one-bedroom handsomely-appointed residence at Mountain Lodge Telluride, valued at approximately $1,000. and good until November 30th. At the Lodge–where the views stretch far and wide–you can enjoy some of the best leaf peeping in the area. Read Togethering in the Rockies and Great Rocky Mountain Decks: Spectacular Views Year-Round for more about this wonderful property.
A $100. gift card for dinner at the New Sheridan Chop House, an elegant restaurant housed within one of Colorado’s most historic properties, where you always enjoy fine food and libations. Valid at the Chop House Restaurant and Parlor until October 12th. For more on this beloved gathering place of Telluride, read Favorite Telluride Restaurants.
A $100. gift certificate at Paragon Outdoors/Bootdoctors to purchase goods and/or services offered by this leading retailer/outfitter. You can sign up for one of their biking or hiking adventures (depending on availability) or buy some clothing or gear at one of their shops. You may also apply the gift certificate to a super boot fit, something the store excels at, which will change your game whether it comes to skiing or hiking. Read Finding Happy Feet at Bootdoctors for a glimpse at the magic they can work. Gift certificate valid through November 30th.
It’s always nice to include some pampering on a getaway. Rosa Lea, owner and operator of Salon 7, is offering just that in the form of a blowout and/or style, a service valued at $50. Good through November 30th, please note that some blackout dates apply this fall when Rosa Lea, like any good Tellurider, takes off for her own travels. Check out Telluride’s Beauty Boutiques for more on Rosa Lea and also the Spa at Mountain Lodge.
