We’ve had a huge month of March here at Telluride Ski Resort and this weekend we’re slated to brake our all-time record for annual skier visits. And we still have a week to go before the mountain closes!

I’m utterly exhausted, since like most ski instructors, I’ve been going full tilt all month (actually all winter). I just had my first couple of days off in weeks and I can tell you it feels great to put my feet up and stretch my toes as I bang out this story.

It’s no wonder there’s been so much buzz about Telluride this year. In addition to the word getting out about our great ski mountain and town in recent years, Telluride Ski Resort has been receiving a lot of attention from Forbes Travel along with once again being ranked #1 in the Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Awards.

Read America’s Best Ski Resorts:  Telluride, ColoradoWhy You Should Visit Telluride Right Now  and Ten Reasons Why Telluride is a Secret Foodie Hot Spot,  stories about Telluride and the ski mountain recently posted at Forbes Travel. I also wrote about two properties for this renowned travel guide. I was delighted to have been engaged by Forbes to report on the Inn at Lost Creek, a lovely boutique hotel owned by Telluride Ski Resort, and Siam’s Talay, a  Thai fusion restaurant at the main level of this establishment.

I had never even taken a tour of the Inn at Lost Creek, so it was a pleasure to discover this superlative property, which I experienced firsthand with my hunny back in December. (It’s crazy to think that here we are at the end of the 2014-2015 ski season–it always goes by so fast!) During our “staycation’ of sorts, we also dined at Talay where we enjoyed fabulous food and drink. That’s the best way to do research, since writing a piece from a press release is typically an arduous task.

Now I thought it was time to share my Forbes stories on the Inn at Lost Creek and Siam’s Talay–along with my personal photos–with you.

There’s still time to take in some great spring skiing and a ton of end-of-season fun. Check out the Telluride Ski Resort for the rundown on the many exciting events planned to mark this festive time. The celebrating begins today, Saturday, March 28, with the Mountain Town Get Down that includes all kinds of music and fun such as a bikini slalom and luau on Sunday. Woo-hoo!

Now’s also the time to start planning your summer travels to our beautiful mountain town, a destination that’s as alluring in summer as in winter.

Enjoy my pics featured in this post from a memorable time for Forbes at the Inn at Lost Creek and Siam’s Talay in Telluride, Colorado and be sure to click through to the other Forbes Telluride stories mentioned above.
